I was a Welsh international chess and rugby player before the age of eighteen. My rugby career ended after being in a comma for 3 weeks due to a major car accident that was almost fatal. I had the opportunity to become a college student in America and created a new purpose in life with all my competitive spirit being redirected into academics and making the decision to relocate abroad.
When working with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, I was assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and successfully dismantled numerous organized crimes involving money laundering, narcotics, and medical fraud schemes throughout the State of Florida. This involved using various analytical and investigation techniques for which I was specifically trained by government special agents. I decided to change my career after being followed home one too many times and my wife expressing legitimate family safety concerns.
• For almost 20 years of my career, I have been mentored by some of the finest medical and business professionals who
have given me the opportunity and ability to not only aspire to senior executive levels within the healthcare industry, but also travel the world and gain an understanding of the various cultures, healthcare systems and quality standards of care being delivered to patients on a global level. I have been successful in the development and implementation of a worldwide quality management program that has significantly reduced dialysis patient hospitalizations and mortality rates. I have often created company and shareholder value by building strong physician relationships and driving millions of dollars to the bottom line by increasing top line growth and successfully managing costs without compromising quality throughout my entire healthcare industry career.
