Drug Class Abbreviations: Antidyskinetic = drugs used to treat Parkinson’s disease and extrapyramidal effects of antipsychotics. Anorexient = to treat obesity.
Atypical = newer antipsychotics/neuroleptics. The Conventional, older antipsychotics/neuroleptics are now rarely used and so are not listed. DNRI = Dopamine-
Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor. MAOI = Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor. NRI = Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor. PDE-5 inhibitor= Phosphodiesterase type-5 inhibitors.
SARI = Serotonin-2 antagonist/Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor. SNRI = Serotonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor. SSRI = Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor.
TetracyclicAD = Tetracyclic Antidepressant. TricyclicAD = Tricyclic Antidepressants almost replaced by SSRIs and so few listed. [ ] = drug withdrawn by manufacturer but
