A) In the case of dogs, have been tested for the following conditions (unless the country of origin can be certified
free from the disease under Section C) at an officially approved laboratory, using testing procedures described below, with negative results, within 60 days of export: 7.1 Brucella canis serum agglutination:- 7.2 Trypanosoma evansi card agglutination test and 7.3 Babesia Gibsoni Immunoflouresence antibody test 7.4 Dirofilaria immitis microfilarial filtration test:- B) In the case of dogs, the animal has as far as can be ascertained, been resident for the past 6 months in an

C. DISEASE FREEDOM

The country of origin is free from Brucella canis or paragraph 7(A) 7.1 has been complied with, Trypanosoma
evansi or paragraphs 7(A) 7.2 and 8.1 have been complied with, Babesia gibsoni or paragraph 7(A) 7.3 has been
complied with and Dirofilaria immitis or paragraphs 7(A) 7.4 and 8.2 have been complied with.

Name in print ___________________________ Address ___________________________ ___________________________ NOTES FOR IMP.DOG/CAT.GEN.2/96 rev 10/11/1999 The vaccine used must be a strain of anti-rabies conforming to a potency standard recognised by the World Health Organisation. - The animal must have been vaccinated at least 30 days, but not longer than 12 months prior to export. - Animals under 3 months of age may not be vaccinated and are considered to have a valid vaccination provided the dam of the animal concerned was vaccinated at least 30 days, but not more than 12 months prior to giving birth. NB Such animals must be vaccinated at 3 months of age against rabies, in the Republic of South Africa and the owners must inform the South African Veterinary Authorities. Heartworm drugs are not available in the Republic of South Africa and must be imported by the importer of the dog, at the time of the importation of the dog.
